Quality Inspector, Aerospace & Verisurf Inspection
Overview
The role owns precision inspection for aerospace components at our Long Beach facility, ensuring compliance on machined parts and sheet metal through CMM and hand tools. You will join a cross-functional quality team focused on continuous improvement and on-time shipments. This position is on-site, full-time, with overtime as needed and opportunities to contribute to process enhancements.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and execute First Article inspection documentation daily to support AS9102 requirements
- 2Inspect machined parts and sheet metal using Faro Arm with Verisurf and standard inspection tools
- 3Perform receiving inspection of raw materials and in-process products including heat treated, chem film, primed, anodized
- 4Complete AS9102 forms daily to support daily shipment requirements
- 5Operate measuring instruments such as micrometers, digital height gauges, comparators, pin gauges, and bore gauges to verify part conformance
- 6Inspect sheet metal formed by hand, hydroformed, and break press forming using mechanical inspection methods
- 7Validate models and drawings against manufactured parts to ensure dimensional and material compliance
- 8Maintain punctual attendance and reliability to meet production schedules
- 9Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- 10Be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and adapting to site safety and inspection procedures
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED
- 22+ years of Aerospace Quality Control/Assurance inspection experience
- 3Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- 4Aerospace and job-shop experience
- 5Ability to read blueprints and mylars
- 6Experience with fixture and inspection tools including micrometers, height gauges, and bore gauges
- 7Familiarity with First Article Inspection and AS9102 documentation
- 8Experience with sheet metal fabrication and CNC machined parts
- 9On-site, long Beach, CA facility location — willingness to work overtime
- 10Strong attendance and punctuality
