Quality Control Manager, Ready-Mix Concrete
Overview
Lead the Nashville Quality Control team for Irving Materials, Inc., owning quality performance across one of the region's most active construction markets. You will oversee ready-mix concrete mix design, troubleshooting, and compliance for commercial and residential projects. Reporting to regional leadership, you'll collaborate with Sales and Production to resolve customer concerns and maintain high standards. What You'll Do6
- 1Lead daily coaching and mentorship for the QC team, developing technical and professional skills.
- 2Own quality projects from review through resolution, serving as senior escalation for customer and jobsite concerns.
- 3Oversee concrete mix design development and troubleshooting for ready-mix projects.
- 4Monitor concrete performance and enforce compliance with project specifications and standards.
- 5Provide hands-on technical support to field personnel for complex concrete and jobsite challenges.
- 6Manage quality across 5-10 primary projects daily, ensuring timely issue resolution and proactive risk identification.
Requirements10
- 1Significant experience in quality control within the ready-mix concrete industry.
- 2Strong technical knowledge of ready-mix concrete and QC practices.
- 3Experience managing concrete quality across multiple active projects.
- 4Concrete mix design development and troubleshooting expertise.
- 5Knowledge of cement fundamentals and concrete performance.
- 6Experience with concrete testing and specification requirements.
- 7Strong jobsite and field troubleshooting capabilities.
- 8DOT knowledge or certification relevant to project requirements.
- 9CIM degree or concrete industry management background preferred.
- 10Previous people management or team leadership experience preferred.
