Quality Control Chemist, Chemistry & QC Testing in LA Area
Overview
Own quality control testing across raw materials and finished goods at scale within a chemical distribution leader. You will compile statistical data to set quality standards and support the QA process. Work in a hands-on lab with standard analytical equipment and documentation workflows. This role blends lab science with process compliance and cross functional collaboration to ensure product reliability.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform quality control tests on incoming materials and finished goods and implement batch adjustments as needed
- 2Prepare or obtain Certificates of Analysis and quality documents and scan into the BUS system
- 3Prepare standard reagent solutions and maintain lab equipment in good working order
- 4Standardize pH meters, densitometer, viscometer, and refractometers as recommended by the manufacturer
- 5Maintain lab cleanliness and organization in the laboratory and surrounding areas
- 6Provide dye and dye solutions to the plant for production purposes
- 7Test hazardous wastes and returned goods as requested
- 8Maintain documentation in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
- 9Dispose of or retain samples per regulations
- 10Represent the company professionally in all interactions
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
- 21-2 years of experience in chemistry or quality control testing
- 3Hands on experience with analytical testing
- 4Proficiency in reading and writing English
- 5Strong organizational and communication skills
- 6Ability to operate laboratory equipment such as balances, viscosimeter, densitometer, and spectrophotometer
- 7Strong mathematical skills including algebra and statistical inference
- 8Ability to work with minimal supervision
- 9Eagerness to learn and develop skills in the field
