Quality Assurance Inspector, Aerospace Manufacturing
Overview
Owns inspections across incoming, in-process, and final products for aviation and ground fuel systems at Robertson Fuel Systems. Works with COTS items, GD&T, and precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives and coordinates with engineering and manufacturing teams in a safety‑conscious environment. This position offers growth from I to V levels with increasing responsibilities.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and execute incoming inspections on COTS items and verify certifications
- 2Read drawings and job aids to apply GD&T and dimensional inspection on precision parts
- 3Maintain certification records and ensure compliant documentation
- 4Perform in‑process and final inspections with minimal supervision
- 5Participate in lean/continuous improvement initiatives and support root cause analysis
- 6Coordinate with engineering for non‑conformities and process improvements
- 7Develop work instructions and procedures for department processes at higher levels
- 8Operate and program measurement tools and CMM when required
- 9Assist with training and mentoring less experienced personnel
- 10Travel up to 30% for levels III–V as needed
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of quality inspection experience for Inspector I
- 2High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of quality inspection experience for Inspector II
- 3High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of quality inspection experience for Inspector III
- 4High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of quality inspection experience for Inspector IV
- 5High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of quality inspection experience for Inspector V
- 6Ability to interpret reports and use job specific software applications
- 7Ability to read and interpret military standards and specifications
- 8Strong communication skills in English
- 9Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- 10Basic knowledge of precision measurement tools like micrometers and calipers
