Overview

You own quality assurance on the production floor at a dry goods facility in Paterson, NJ, ensuring every batch meets food safety standards. You report to QA leadership and work alongside production teams to catch defects early. This role puts you in the middle of the action, with direct impact on product release and compliance. You will apply GMPs, HACCP, and food safety protocols daily. Weekends occasionally required during peak production.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Perform routine quality checks and inspections across production and warehouse zones.
  • 2Monitor compliance with GMPs, food safety policies, and company procedures.
  • 3Conduct line checks, product evaluations, and in-process inspections.
  • 4Collect and document quality data with accuracy and speed.
  • 5Verify product labeling, packaging, coding, and specifications against standards.
  • 6Monitor sanitation and housekeeping throughout the facility.
  • 7Assist with product holds, releases, and non-conformance investigations.
  • 8Support environmental monitoring and allergen control programs.
  • 9Report quality and food safety concerns to management immediately.
  • 10Maintain accurate quality records and assist with internal audits and audit prep.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years in QA or food manufacturing, specifically dry powders, bakery, or spice.
  • 2Hands-on experience with GMPs, HACCP, and food safety standards.
  • 3Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • 4Good communication and problem-solving abilities; bilingual Spanish a plus.
  • 5Ability to work on the production floor for the entire shift.
  • 6Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • 7High school diploma or GED minimum; Associate's or Bachelor's in Food Science or Biology preferred.
  • 8Reliable car required; no mass transit access.
