Overview
You will provide clinical oversight to psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants at CHE Behavioral Health, a premier provider with 700+ clinicians across 11 states. You will review medical records, consult on complex cases, and support diagnostic and treatment accuracy, all without direct patient care. This fully collaborative role leverages your Board Certification in Psychiatry and New York license to ensure compliance with APA and SAMHSA guidelines. You will join a team backed by State and Regional Directors who handle day-to-day operations, letting you focus on clinical excellence. What You'll Do6
- 1Review and approve medical records for psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants, ensuring compliance with New York State regulations.
- 2Consult with NPs and PAs on diagnostic and treatment decisions, focusing on psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
- 3Support accurate psychiatric diagnosis and treatment planning by applying APA and SAMHSA best-practice guidelines.
- 4Ensure prescribing practices align with current standards, including DEA requirements and controlled substance regulations.
- 5Participate in periodic quality review meetings to assess clinical outcomes and adherence to care protocols.
- 6Collaborate with CHE's State and Regional Directors on operational matters affecting NP and PA support.
Requirements6
- 1MD or DO with Board Certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or equivalent.
- 2Active New York State medical license and residency in New York.
- 3Active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- 4Proven ability to provide clinical oversight and collaborative consultation to nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
- 5Commitment to quality, compliance, and collaborative care in behavioral health settings.
- 6Familiarity with skilled nursing facility and outpatient regulations is preferred.
