Project Estimator, Data Center Flushing & Cleaning
Overview
You will own cost estimates for hydronic flushing and chemical cleaning on data center construction and retrofit projects. You will work with operations, project management, and business development to deliver accurate bids and support profitable growth. You will coordinate with field leadership to validate production rates and execution strategies. This role stands out for its focus on mission-critical facilities and clean systems. You will report directly to the estimating manager and influence bid strategy.
What You'll Do10
- 1Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications for data center flushing and cleaning scopes.
- 2Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for piping systems, equipment, water volumes, and chemicals.
- 3Develop complete cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- 4Prepare and submit timely, accurate bids that meet client and GC requirements.
- 5Define clear scopes of work and exclusions for hydronic flushing and chemical cleaning projects.
- 6Identify project risks and constraints related to system complexity and site logistics.
- 7Evaluate alternative means and methods to optimize cost and schedule compliance.
- 8Interpret mechanical and commissioning specifications for water quality and passivation.
- 9Coordinate with operations to validate production rates and labor plans.
- 10Support proposal narratives and value engineering options.
Requirements10
- 13+ years estimating experience in mechanical construction or industrial systems.
- 2Working knowledge of hydronic systems and piping.
- 3Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- 4Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- 5Proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, or similar estimating tools.
- 6Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 7Experience with data center projects or mission-critical facilities.
- 8Familiarity with chemical cleaning and passivation standards.
- 9Understanding of GC bid processes and subcontractor scopes.
- 10Ability to analyze pump performance curves and size piping systems.
Salary Insight
$90 - $105k per year
