Project Estimator – Data Center Flushing & Cleaning
Overview
Estimator responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for hydronic flushing and cleaning services on data center construction and retrofit projects. Works with operations project management and business development teams to support project execution and profitable growth.
What You'll Do13
- 1Review bid documents drawings specifications and commissioning requirements for data center flushing and cleaning scopes
- 2Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for piping systems equipment water volumes chemicals filtration labor and temporary systems
- 3Develop complete cost estimates including labor materials equipment subcontractors consumables and indirect costs
- 4Prepare and submit timely accurate bids in accordance with client GC and owner requirements
- 5Define clear scopes of work and exclusions specific to data center flushing and cleaning
- 6Identify project risks assumptions and constraints related to system complexity cleanliness levels schedules and site logistics
- 7Evaluate alternative means and methods to optimize cost schedule and compliance
- 8Interpret mechanical and commissioning specifications related to hydronic flushing chemical cleaning passivation and water quality
- 9Coordinate with internal operations and field leadership to validate production rates labor plans and execution strategies
- 10Participate in pre bid meetings scope reviews and post bid clarifications as required
- 11Assist in developing pricing strategies aligned with market conditions and company goals
- 12Support proposal narratives clarifications and value engineering options when requested
- 13Maintain historical cost data and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating tools and templates
Requirements13
- 13+ years of estimating experience in mechanical construction specialty services or industrial process systems
- 2Working knowledge of hydronic systems piping and mechanical equipment
- 3Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings specifications and construction schedules
- 4Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- 5Proficiency in estimating software spreadsheets and takeoff tools such as excel bluebeam or similar
- 6Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 7Experience with data center projects mission critical facilities or high purity clean systems
- 8Familiarity with hydronic flushing chemical cleaning passivation and commissioning standards
- 9Understanding of GC bid processes subcontractor scopes and contract terms
- 10Mechanical trade background pipefitting HVAC or commissioning is a plus
- 11Ability to interpret and analyze pump performance curves
- 12Experience sizing piping systems to achieve required flow rates and pressures
- 13Familiarity with friction loss calculations pump selection
Salary Insight
$90 - $105k per year
