Project Controls Manager, Large Facility Construction
Overview
Own the program controls function for large facility projects overseeing budget, schedule, change management, and risk analysis. Lead the project controls group to develop and maintain control databases and reports at scale. Collaborate with PM teams, stakeholders, and leadership to ensure alignment of cost, schedule, and contract obligations. This role blends hands-on analysis with leadership across multiple projects and requires up to 20% travel.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead the project controls team to establish and maintain project control tools and reporting databases
- 2Gather and track budgets, contracts, change orders, trends and actual costs to drive informed decisions
- 3Develop and maintain program controls procedures and regular progress reporting to PMs and leadership
- 4Prepare monthly, weekly, and ad hoc reports for clients and PM staff with clear timelines and cost implications
- 5Manage change control, schedule baseline updates, and reconcile schedule versus budget with contract terms
- 6Provide cash flow projections and forecast to optimize available capital
- 7Support claims, variance analysis, and data inputs using MS Project, Primavera, and Excel
- 8Assist with master program schedule development to meet time and cost constraints
- 9Monitor and communicate critical path and risks across multiple sites
- 10Develop and deploy standardized project controls practices and staffing plans for projects
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
- 210-15 years of project management experience in large, complex facility construction
- 3Strong budgeting, accounting, procurement, and contract management knowledge
- 4Advanced analytical skills for cost estimates, bid evaluations, budgets, cash flow, risk, and benchmarking
- 5Proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software such as Suretrak, Project, P6, PlanGrid, Revit, VICO or equivalent
