Overview
We seek a Project Accountant to lead financial oversight for B&A's finance department. This role drives accurate project accounting and financial reporting across multiple locations.
What You'll Do11
- 1Set up project accounts in the accounting system to track financial transactions accurately
- 2Maintain detailed records of project-related documents including contracts and change orders
- 3Grant secure access to project accounts for authorized personnel
- 4Authorize expense transfers between project accounts as needed
- 5Review and approve supplier invoices ensuring contract compliance
- 6Verify project time sheets for accurate labor cost allocation
- 7Validate overhead charges applied to projects for proper cost distribution
- 8Analyze account totals to maintain financial accuracy
- 9Investigate variances and submit detailed reports to management
- 10Collaborate with receivables to resolve unpaid contract billings
- 11Report project profitability highlighting financial trends to leadership
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s degree in accounting finance or related field with 2-5 years experience
- 2Proven project accounting experience in construction or engineering sectors
- 3Strong knowledge of accounting principles and ERP systems
- 4Certification such as CPA or CMA preferred
- 5Advanced Excel proficiency and ability to prepare government reports
