Overview

You will lead daily operations at Little Owls Learning Center, managing teaching staff, family relations, and STARS/DHS compliance for a childcare program of 40+ children. This role blends office leadership with classroom support, stepping into classrooms when needed. You will shape the center's culture and operational quality. Unique for its hands-on director track with STARS and DHS oversight.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Lead teaching staff, set schedules, and guide lesson planning aligned with STARS standards.
  • 2Support families through enrollment tours, paperwork, and ongoing communication to build trust.
  • 3Maintain DHS compliance, including health and safety inspections, staff clearances, and documentation.
  • 4Handle billing, scheduling, and other operational tasks to keep the center running smoothly.
  • 5Step into classrooms to supervise, model positive behavior techniques, and assist with routines.
  • 6Manage crisis situations calmly, using de-escalation and problem-solving skills.
  • 7Drive the enrollment process from tour to contract, aiming to fill spots efficiently.
  • 8Collaborate with teachers to implement engaging, age-appropriate activities.
  • 9Coordinate professional development for staff to meet licensing and educational goals.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services, OR 30 credit hours in those fields plus 1 year experience with children.
  • 2Associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services, OR 30 credit hours in those fields plus 2-3 years experience with children.
  • 33+ years of childcare experience.
  • 4Hold or obtain clearances (FBI, Child Abuse, PA State Police) and health assessment/TB.
  • 5Hold or obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
  • 6Ability to commute to Leechburg, PA 15656.
  • 7Strong verbal and written communication skills for family and staff interactions.
  • 8Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
