Overview
As Lead Toddler Teacher, own the daily curriculum and classroom experience for toddlers at a Philadelphia nonprofit with 50+ years of service. What You'll Do10
- 1Coordinate and implement educational lesson plans using OCDEL-approved curriculum and early learning standards.
- 2Design individual and group activities that boost cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- 3Lead assistant teachers and support staff by modeling and coaching to ensure adherence to planned activities.
- 4Monitor child growth using age-appropriate assessment tools and document progress against learning objectives.
- 5Refer children for additional services after consulting with the Center Director.
- 6Support IEP processes and participate in team meetings to aid all children.
- 7Build positive relationships with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and conferences.
- 8Maintain student records that highlight developmental strengths and weaknesses.
- 9Coordinate Early Years events and initiatives with community partners and stakeholders.
- 10Stay current on early childhood education best practices and complete required trainings for compliance.
Requirements8
- 1Hold a CDA, AA, or BA degree in Early Childhood Education.
- 2Have 2+ years of documented classroom experience with early childhood populations.
- 3Possess hands-on experience working with toddlers.
- 4Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and basic computer skills.
- 5Show solid organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- 6Understand child development principles deeply.
- 7Be familiar with Keystone STARS standards and DHS regulations.
- 8Maintain current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certifications.
