Assistant Center Director, Early Childhood Education
Overview
You will own daily operations at one of our Pittsburgh centers, leading a team of educators to deliver safe, nurturing care for up to 100 children. Your leadership drives enrollment, staff coaching, and compliance with Pennsylvania licensing standards. With 20 locations across PA and WV, this role offers a path to grow into multi-site management. You'll partner with families and staff to build a thriving learning environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead daily center operations to ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children and staff.
- 2Coach and manage teaching staff, providing feedback and support to improve classroom quality.
- 3Drive enrollment by building strong relationships with current and prospective families.
- 4Maintain licensing compliance and quality standards across all state and local regulations.
- 5Oversee scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet center ratios and budgets.
- 6Implement curriculum and child development programs, ensuring alignment with ECE best practices.
- 7Handle parent communications, concerns, and community outreach to boost retention.
- 8Track and report key metrics on enrollment, staff turnover, and compliance to the executive director.
Requirements8
- 1Associate degree (or higher) in ECE, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or related Human Services field.
- 21+ year of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting.
- 3Proven leadership experience, preferably supervising staff in early childhood education.
- 4Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania state licensing regulations and quality standards.
- 5Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage families and staff.
- 6Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic center environment.
- 7Basic computer proficiency for documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
- 8Must pass background checks and meet state health requirements.
