Program Coordinator, Senior Services in Houston
Overview
You will own resident services at an affordable housing community, linking PRS to seniors and families through CORES certified programs. You will plan monthly activities, manage volunteers and donations, and report outcomes to property management. Working 9 hours weekly with a flexible onsite schedule, you will make a direct impact on resident quality of life. This role suits an outgoing self-starter with a heart for community service.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design and post a monthly calendar of developmental activities and essential resources for residents, prioritizing social, educational, and economic needs.
- 2Serve as the first point of contact at the community center, welcoming residents and creating an inviting atmosphere.
- 3Prepare monthly reports based on distributed calendars, sign-in sheets, and contracted program hours and activities.
- 4Distribute flyers and calendars door-to-door throughout the property, including using stairs.
- 5Recruit volunteers, solicit donations, and log all communications with volunteers and community partners monthly.
- 6Connect residents with local resources and assistance by providing information and referrals.
- 7Enlist resident feedback to adjust program offerings and identify additional services needed.
- 8Monitor and interact with children, adults, and seniors independently, maintaining sign-in sheets for each activity.
- 9Manage petty cash and use the tax-exempt certificate responsibly while replenishing supplies and keeping the community center organized.
- 10Maintain all PRS binders, documents, and forms for presentation to property management and resident services personnel.
Requirements9
- 1Available to work 2 days per week from 9 AM to 2 PM (Monday-Friday).
- 2Relevant experience in education, social work, or nonprofit settings; volunteer experience considered.
- 3Experience with children, teens, adults, or senior citizens in various capacities.
- 4Ability to work independently without supervision and multitask effectively.
- 5Exceptional organizational, computer, and administrative skills.
- 6Effective written and oral communication skills.
- 7Familiarity with community and social service resources.
- 8Available to attend quarterly team meetings (once per quarter).
- 9Comfortable using iPad and basic applications for communication, reporting, and program tracking.
