Production Supervisor, Plastics Manufacturing Night Shift
Overview
You will own production performance for a 25-35 person overnight team at a 24/7 plastics manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City. With 2+ years supervising in manufacturing and 1+ years in blow molding operations, you will drive KPIs, safety, and quality on a 2-2-3 night schedule. You will lead cross-functional projects with maintenance and quality, and champion 5S and kaizen events. This role stands out for its direct accountability for shift results and hands-on line support.
What You'll Do9
- 1Own shift KPIs, tracking and improving safety, quality, and throughput metrics.
- 2Direct and coach 25-35 direct reports, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- 3Lead waste reduction and efficiency projects, targeting measurable improvements in OEE.
- 4Enforce safety and environmental policies, including housekeeping and 5S standards.
- 5Use the time-keeping system to approve hours and manage attendance.
- 6Collaborate with maintenance and quality to keep lines running and meet specs.
- 7Ensure every employee has the training and tools to execute their role.
- 8Drive plant safety committees, OEE workshops, and kaizen events.
- 9Fill in on the production line when staffing gaps arise.
Requirements9
- 12+ years supervising production in a manufacturing environment.
- 21+ years in blow molding operations: injection of preforms, 2-Stage, EBM, ISBM, or IBM.
- 3Strong leadership and people skills to manage a diverse team.
- 4In-depth knowledge of production processes: assembly, machining, and quality control.
- 5Proven track record of process improvements that raised operational efficiency.
- 6Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- 7Proficiency with production management software and ERP systems.
- 8Understanding of safety regulations and ability to promote a safe environment.
- 9Effective communication in English; Spanish is a plus.
