Production Lead, Injection Molding (B Shift)
Overview
You own daily production for the B shift in a injection molding facility, directing a team of operators to hit output and quality targets. You split your time between floor leadership and hands-on work, from machine startups to Epicor work orders. You report to the Operations Manager and drive shift meetings, quality checks, and 5S standards. This role stands out for its blend of supervisory and operational duties in a climate-controlled plant.
What You'll Do9
- 1Supervise the daily activities of B shift production staff, including breaks, lunches, and PPE compliance.
- 2Lead shift startup and changeover meetings, setting priorities for the team.
- 3Execute machine startups, shutdowns, and restarts to maintain production flow.
- 4Manage the work order lifecycle in Epicor and track shop floor workflow in real time.
- 5Audit housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the shift.
- 6Perform routine quality checks and validation, maintaining defect awareness.
- 7Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them quickly to minimize downtime.
- 8Capture production data and send end-of-shift reports to managers.
- 9Step into operator roles when needed, covering quality checks, restocking, and machine operation.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 23+ years of frontline leadership experience in injection molding or blow molding.
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- 4Ability to learn Epicor ERP system.
- 5Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication.
- 6Basic math skills for calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
- 7Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage operational stress.
- 8Physical ability to stand/walk 90% of the shift and lift up to 50 pounds.
- 9Availability for B shift (2:00 PM-10:30 PM) with occasional Saturday overtime.
