Production Supervisor, 2nd Shift & Union Environment
Overview
Own the Galvanizing Dept production, material flow, and quality control for a union manufacturing site at scale. Lead a 2nd shift team, drive safety, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives within a structured plant environment. Collaborate with the Production Manager and cross-functional teams to meet schedules and quality standards.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build shift plans to maximize manpower and materials across the union workforce
- 2Drive on-time production by coordinating part processing to meet schedules and flag issues early
- 3Monitor team performance, complete performance reviews, and implement corrective actions
- 4Ensure product quality meets standards and oversee inspections per procedures
- 5Report and investigate incidents following company policy and conduct root-cause analysis when needed
- 6Lead shift startups and monthly safety meetings to reinforce safe practices
- 7Administer policies consistently and maintain housekeeping and safe working conditions
- 8Train new and temporary employees on department activities and safety
- 9Serve as a champion for continuous improvement projects across teams
- 10Prepare and review production reports to ensure accurate time and output tracking
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of leadership in industrial manufacturing
- 2Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to read safety rules and manuals
- 3Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- 4Ability to read blueprints and apply basic algebra/geometry concepts to production
- 5Experience supervising or managing in an industrial environment (3+ years preferred)
- 6Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
- 7Willingness to work 2nd shift with OT and weekends as needed
- 8Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety procedures
- 9Experience with time and attendance systems is preferred
- 10Bachelor's degree with 3+ years experience or Associate's with 5+ years experience is preferred
