Overview

You will own the production schedule for all machining operations, including high-speed milling, 5-axis machining, grinding, polishing, and assembly, ensuring on-time delivery across a high-mix facility. You act as the communication hub between operations, machining, programming, engineering, and customer service, prioritizing jobs by deadlines and capacity. You will identify bottlenecks and adjust schedules in real time using ERP/MRP systems, with a focus on continuous flow. This role offers a path into training documentation or quality systems and stable growth in an established organization.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Build daily, weekly, and long-range schedules for high-speed milling, 5-axis machining, grinding, polishing, benching, inspection, and assembly.
  • 2Verify each job has prints, CAM files, materials, tooling, and fixtures before release.
  • 3Prioritize jobs based on customer deadlines, lead times, revision changes, and workflow constraints.
  • 4Identify capacity conflicts and adjust schedules proactively to avoid idle machines.
  • 5Track work in progress through each stage and monitor critical-path components.
  • 6Recommend process improvements to reduce lead time and improve throughput.
  • 7Collaborate with engineering and programming to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • 8Maintain accurate schedule data in ERP/MRP systems.

Requirements6

  • 12+ years in manufacturing planning, production scheduling, or shop coordination.
  • 2Knowledge of machining operations: high-speed milling, 5-axis machining, grinding, finishing, inspection.
  • 3Ability to read technical drawings, routings, and machining sequences.
  • 4Experience with ERP/MRP scheduling systems.
  • 5Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • 6Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
