Production Apprentice, Insurance Brokerage Support
Overview
You will own policy servicing and clerical support for a broker team at Brown & Riding, assisting with active and expired files, endorsements, and quotes. You'll work onsite in Dallas, coordinating with carriers and retailers, and following QMS standards to ensure compliance. This role helps you earn your Property & Casualty license and Surplus Lines license, with structured education to grow into a licensed producer.
What You'll Do10
- 1Follow QMS procedures to meet quality goals and fully document agency management files.
- 2Follow up on subjectivities and post-binding requirements from carriers, escalating unresolved issues to a licensed team member.
- 3Produce and email renewal letters requesting completed applications for coverage, then transmit to a licensed member.
- 4Relay factual information from retailers to licensed team members, recording answers on applications without discussing terms or pricing.
- 5Receive calls about additional or replacement items on active policies and pass details to licensed staff for review.
- 6Compile information and applications for market submissions, assisting licensed members with setup.
- 7Relay written bind and endorsement requests to markets or carriers, copying a licensed team member on all communications.
- 8Prepare quotes for release by entering details into the agency system, outlining subjectivities, and updating market responses.
- 9Process and release Confirmations of Coverages and endorsements under direction, copying licensed members.
- 10Manage follow-up tasks for pending items, submit Surplus Line documents on time, and assist with mail and accounting.
Requirements8
- 11+ year in an office or customer service role, preferably in insurance.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3Strong computer skills, including MS Office and agency management systems.
- 4Ability to obtain a Property & Casualty license and Surplus Lines license as required by state.
- 5Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- 6Clear written and verbal communication.
- 7Ability to work onsite in Dallas, Texas.
- 8Completion of or willingness to complete educational courses like Intro to Insurance, All About Risk, and Professional Risk Consultant.
