Product Manager, Demand Planning & Forecasting (Retail)
Overview
Own end-to-end demand planning and product-level forecasting for retail channels at scale. Lead cross-functional reviews and strategic recommendations to maximize revenue in a data-driven, fast-paced environment. Collaborate with channel leaders on promotional strategies and forecast inputs, building alignment across global teams. Bring hands-on modeling expertise to design scenarios, lift calculations, and scenario-based decision support.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build forward-looking forecasts from historical trends and channel-specific adjustments using daily product-level data.
- 2Create comprehensive promotional forecasts with scenario models to help channel owners evaluate strategies.
- 3Lead deep-dive analyses on product performance, YOY comparisons, attainment tracking, and mix shifts.
- 4Provide weekly forecasting and sales reporting support to retail channel owners with timely, accurate data.
- 5Develop and execute net-short analyses and manage inventory during end-of-sale planning to limit overhang risk.
- 6Manage and update forecasting systems to ensure data accuracy and reliability across channels and marketplaces.
- 7Create workback schedules for forecasting cycles and hold channel owners accountable for inputs and deadlines.
- 8Meet regularly with channel owners to review baselines, capture feedback, and document assumptions.
- 9Lead Global Retail Demand Reviews, presenting insights and forecast recommendations to cross-functional partners.
- 10Act as strategic advisor and hands-on modeling expert to design and evaluate promotional approaches and their impact on units and revenue.
Requirements10
- 15+ years building demand plans, forecasting, and program management in B2C or traditional retail environments
- 2Proven expertise in forecasting promotional impacts, including lifts and price elasticities
- 3Strong analytical skills with ability to connect forecasting to strategic business outcomes
- 4Advanced Excel skills with complex models, scenario analysis, and data manipulation
- 5Experience building daily, product-level forecasts and partnering with sales to grow the business
- 6Experience with forecasting cycles, workback schedules, and stakeholder management
- 7Ability to clearly articulate forecast assumptions, methodologies, and variances to varied audiences
- 8Cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, and channel owners to standardize processes
- 9Experience with planning tools such as Anaplan is a plus
- 10Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
