Manager Merchandising Planning, Retail Analytics & Forecasting
Overview
Owns analytics for merchandising planning and revenue management at scale, partnering with Merchandising, Merch Planning, IT and stakeholders to drive financial and strategic objectives. Leads development of analytics for buying, pricing, promotions and supply chain across projects. Delivers timely, accurate insights and prototypes to inform management decisions and optimize forecast accuracy.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build analytical tools and models for merchandising planning, promotions, and forecasting with cross-functional partners
- 2Design and deliver reports that summarize weekly, monthly and quarterly results with actionable recommendations
- 3Lead prototypes and proofs of concept to validate analytical approaches and assumptions
- 4Identify data, tests and boundary conditions to prove algorithm accuracy and efficacy
- 5Present recommendations to leadership and stakeholders using clear communication and visuals
- 6Serve as project lead for ad hoc analytics initiatives with milestones and deliverables
- 7Develop scalable analytics solutions in collaboration with Product Management and IT teams
- 8Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methodologies and operating mechanisms
- 9Collaborate across departments to ensure analytics apply across portfolios
- 10Coach and influence teams to pursue data-led value driving use-cases
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or related field is required
- 2MBA preferred
- 3Minimum 5+ years designing analytics in retail/CPG/services industries
- 4Experience in analytical roles with increasing responsibility in merchandise planning or retail consulting
- 5Strong SQL and MS Excel skills; familiarity with MS SQL Server, Oracle databases
- 6Proven ability to execute concepts quickly with high accuracy in PoC environments
- 7Proven ability to manipulate large data sets and generate impactful recommendations
- 8Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- 9Ability to lead and supervise teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- 10Experience with data visualization and statistical modeling or optimization
