Overview

Own procurement for construction projects at RES, a renewable energy leader, managing RFP processes, negotiations, and supplier relationships across Solar, Wind, and Substation projects. Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and legal teams to secure materials and services that drive project success. This hybrid role (3 days in office) offers the chance to mentor junior staff and influence strategic sourcing decisions. You will directly impact project profitability through cost savings and risk mitigation.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead RFP processes, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
  • 2Build supplier and internal relationships to align demand requirements with project needs.
  • 3Prepare subcontracts and ensure project-specific requirements are captured.
  • 4Identify and resolve redlines, escalating complex issues to senior procurement leadership.
  • 5Mentor Procurement Associates and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • 6Track and expedite deliveries of equipment and materials to meet site schedules.
  • 7Coordinate engineering evaluations of supplier proposals for materials.
  • 8Update the Project Procurement Plan and manage purchase orders.
  • 9Collaborate with HSQE to ensure subcontractor safety and compliance.
  • 10Train staff on procurement software including Business World, Procore, SharePoint, and ISN.

Requirements10

  • 13+ years experience negotiating purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • 2Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3ISM or CIPS certification preferred.
  • 4Proven ability to manage multiple RFPs and prioritize workload.
  • 5Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under uncertainty.
  • 6Excellent attention to detail and written documentation accuracy.
  • 7High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • 8Knowledge of contracts, subcontracts, and category management.
  • 9Experience in Solar, Wind, or Substation construction procurement preferred.
  • 10Ability to travel 15-30% and pass background and drug test.
