Principal Storage Administrator, Dell & HP SAN
Overview
You will own storage administration for Dell and HP arrays in secure, isolated environments, supporting 5,000+ users and 500 TB of mission-critical data. You will join a team of 10 engineers and collaborate with security and program managers to standardize infrastructure services. This role stands out for its focus on Top-Secret clearance work and exposure to VMware and Fibre Channel technologies.
What You'll Do9
- 1Install and configure Dell Isilon, Dell Compellent, HP Nimble, and Dell Power Store arrays in data center racks.
- 2Monitor and maintain storage health, applying security updates and firmware patches within maintenance windows.
- 3Execute Fibre Channel SAN zoning and LUN provisioning to support VDI and engineering teams.
- 4Drive backup and recovery operations using enterprise backup solutions and array snapshots.
- 5Troubleshoot storage performance issues, resolving root causes to maintain 99.9% uptime.
- 6Document storage configurations and procedures, enabling cross-team collaboration.
- 7On-call rotation for after-hours incidents, responding within 15 minutes to critical alerts.
- 8Collaborate with security teams to maintain DISA STIG compliance and RMF controls.
- 9Lead storage migration and refresh projects, minimizing downtime and data loss.
Requirements9
- 16+ years administering enterprise storage with Dell and HP arrays.
- 2Current Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top-Secret.
- 3Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent technical experience.
- 4Experience with Fibre Channel SAN and LUN provisioning.
- 5Knowledge of VMware virtualization and LUN management.
- 6Experience with backups and restores at file, VM, and database levels.
- 7DoD 8570 compliant (e.g., Security+).
- 8Proficiency in cabling and configuring storage arrays in a data center.
- 9Strong documentation and communication skills for cross-functional teams.
