Principal Software Engineer Atom Computing
Overview
Lead technical direction for quantum computing software platform at Atom Computing. Set architecture for workload orchestration hardware interfaces and data management while driving next generation system design. Report to Software Engineering Manager and lead backend services written in Python and Rust alongside TypeScript React frontend components. Work in Boulder CO or Austin TX.
What You'll Do9
- 1Provide technical leadership for core software platform coordinating quantum computers
- 2Drive architectural decisions for quantum workload orchestration and hardware interfaces
- 3Manage experimental data produced by quantum systems
- 4Invent novel technologies advancing our technology roadmap
- 5Rewrite prototype code from Quantum Engineers into production services
- 6Mentor engineers improving code quality and engineering practices
- 7Deploy monitor and support production platform with on-call rotations
- 8Partner with infrastructure team to enhance CI/CD pipelines
- 9Represent engineering work externally in customer engagements and technical community
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with advanced degrees optional
- 210+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3Proficiency with Python and SQL
- 4Experience developing software in Linux environments
- 5Familiarity with Git automated testing and modern development practices
- 6Willingness to learn atomic optical laser physics and quantum mechanics
- 7Nice to have experience with C++ Rust cloud infrastructure Terraform
- 8Experience building TypeScript React frontend components
- 9Experience with containerization technologies
- 10Strong organization and project management skills
- 11Experience at both large tech companies and startups
