Principal Process Technology Engineer at Bloom Energy
Overview
We seek a Principal Process Technology Engineer to lead the development and integration of core process technologies for our Energy Server platform. This role drives functional design and system integration to enable gigawatt-scale deployment of clean energy solutions. The ideal candidate will shape project definition and execution to accelerate deployment across multiple product platforms.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead and/or support functional design development for key process systems
- 2Translate high-level requirements into process architecture and performance specifications
- 3Develop Design Basis Memoranda and interface definitions across subsystems
- 4Drive technology selection and concept maturation for complex integrations
- 5Act as primary technical interface with third-party providers and EPC firms
- 6Serve as technical owner for assigned projects ensuring integration integrity
- 7Support FEED activities and ensure completeness of engineering deliverables
- 8Interface with internal teams to align design with operational and performance needs
- 9Make high-quality engineering decisions under uncertainty
- 10Standardize process designs for repeatable scalable deployment
- 11Capture lessons learned to improve continuous improvement
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- 210+ years process engineering experience in chemical manufacturing oil & gas or energy sectors
- 3Proven track record developing functional design documentation including PFDs and P&IDs
- 4Experience with FEED/RFP processes and equipment specification reviews
- 5Familiarity with process safety analyses and HAZOP leadership
- 6Strong background in system integration and electrical one-line diagrams
- 7Exposure to CO₂ capture technologies and industrial utility systems
- 8Professional Engineer license preferred
- 9Experience with Aspen Plus or similar simulation tools
- 10Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead multi-disciplinary projects
- 11Track record securing construction permits and coordinating external partners
