Press Brake Operator, 2nd Shift | Houston, TX
Overview
You will operate a Press Brake to fabricate steel components for structural and plate applications. You will work as part of a 10-person team in a fabrication shop producing 200+ parts per day. This role offers immediate impact on production output and 2nd shift premium pay.
What You'll Do10
- 1Operate a Press Brake to bend sheet metal and plate to specified angles and dimensions.
- 2Set up and adjust tooling, dies, and stops to ensure accurate bending according to blueprints.
- 3Measure finished parts with calipers, micrometers, and squares to verify tolerances.
- 4Load and unload materials using a forklift or overhead crane as needed.
- 5Perform routine maintenance on the Press Brake, such as cleaning and lubricating.
- 6Inspect parts for defects and report issues to the supervisor.
- 7Follow all safety protocols, including wearing required PPE and maintaining a clean work area.
- 8Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete production orders on schedule.
- 9Document production output and quality checks in the ERP system.
- 10Train new operators on machine setup and safety procedures as needed.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of experience operating a Press Brake in a manufacturing environment.
- 2Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
- 3Proficiency with measuring tools: caliper, micrometer, tape measure.
- 4High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for 8+ hours.
- 6Basic math skills to convert fractions to decimals.
- 7Good communication skills in English.
- 8Forklift certification is a plus.
