Polisher – Temporary (3 months)
Overview
You will own the polishing and finishing process for Aerosonic's aviation components, from sanding and buffing to sandblasting and re-taping. You will work onsite in Clearwater, FL, on a dedicated production team serving major civil, military, and business aircraft manufacturers. This temporary 3-month role builds on your assembly background and offers a direct path to apply Microsoft Office skills in a hands-on environment. What makes this role unique: you handle precision surfaces that impact flight safety, with no hybrid options and a strict U.S. person requirement.
What You'll Do8
- 1Operate sanding belts to smooth metal and composite parts to specified tolerances during the first 90 days.
- 2Use buffing wheels to achieve high-gloss finishes on aluminum and stainless steel components.
- 3Perform sandblasting to clean and prep surfaces for coatings, following work orders and safety protocols.
- 4Re-tape parts using re-taping tools to mask areas before finishing, ensuring clean edges and patterns.
- 5Assemble small parts by hand, using hand tools and fixtures, to support production deadlines.
- 6Inspect finished pieces against blueprints and quality checklists, flagging any defects to the lead polisher.
- 7Maintain a clean, organized work station and adhere to all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- 8Document work completed in Microsoft Office logs, including part numbers and quantities.
Requirements8
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2Prior experience in assembly, manufacturing, or a similar trade role (preferred).
- 3Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- 4Ability to lift 35 pounds regularly.
- 5Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
- 6Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive motions.
- 7Ability to read and interpret simple work instructions and blueprints.
- 8Basic math skills for measuring and verifying tolerances.
