Overview
Own the preparation and presentation of menu items in a high standard hotel kitchen. You will work during the evening shift at Crowne Plaza KC Downtown, delivering consistent quality for guests in a fast moving environment. You will maintain sanitation, stock, and equipment readiness while collaborating with the F&B team to support hotel programs and guest satisfaction. This role offers hands on cooking duties, exposure to multiple hotel departments, and opportunities to contribute to ongoing process improvements.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build high quality dishes following standard recipes and brand standards to ensure guest satisfaction
- 2Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production to maintain stock levels
- 3Maintain sanitation and proper storage of products and ensure portion control
- 4Inspect kitchen equipment and work areas to comply with health department standards
- 5Collaborate with upper kitchen management and other departments to support F&B initiatives
- 6Participate in long range planning and ongoing hotel program improvements
- 7Assist with physical inventories and support emergency or special event needs
- 8Provide exceptional guest service and address concerns professionally
- 9Communicate effectively with team members and adapt to new ideas
- 10Adhere to all company SOPs and maintain a positive, professional work environment
Requirements10
- 1High School diploma or equivalent
- 2Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes is a plus
- 3Must be able to read, write and understand primary workplace language
- 4Strong communication skills and basic math for cash handling and documentation
- 5Ability to read recipes and follow instructions
- 6Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- 7Physical ability to perform culinary tasks including knife use, cutting, and kitchen equipment operation
- 8Ability to work in cold and hot kitchen environments and maintain safe sanitation practices
- 9Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- 10Must be able to pass any required licenses or permits for food service
