Platform Infrastructure Engineer (AWS, Terraform)
Overview
You will own the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud foundations and shared services across AWS and Azure in a high-uptime, high-security environment. You will lead modernization of platform operations through Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and observability standards, influencing leadership decisions and mentoring engineers. This role combines hands-on delivery with coaching, championing responsible automation including AI-accelerated workflows. You will drive enterprise best practices and reference architectures for hybrid integrations, reducing toil and improving reliability.
What You'll Do9
- 1Design and implement AWS cloud foundations including networking, identity, compute, storage, and runtime enablement using Terraform and Ansible.
- 2Build and evolve CI/CD pipelines and platform enablement tooling with CircleCI, GitHub, or GitLab to accelerate product delivery.
- 3Establish golden paths and reference architectures for Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, environment provisioning, and policy-as-code.
- 4Drive modernization of platform operations through observability standards (metrics, logs, traces) and resilient design to improve incident response.
- 5Lead incident response and root-cause analysis, driving systemic fixes that reduce operational toil.
- 6Mentor engineers on modern infrastructure patterns, code quality, and test automation, raising the bar on engineering practices.
- 7Partner with engineering and business leaders to shape platform strategy, prioritize work, and deliver measurable improvements in uptime, performance, and cost efficiency.
- 8Champion FinOps practices including right-sizing, capacity planning, and vendor evaluations to optimize cost.
- 9Review industry trends and responsibly incorporate AI-accelerated workflows to improve delivery speed and reliability.
Requirements10
- 18+ years (IV) or 10-12 years (V) developing tools supporting production environments, with a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- 2Deep expertise designing and operating cloud platforms at scale with AWS or Azure.
- 3Proficiency in Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
- 4Experience with Git-based workflows using GitHub or GitLab, including frequent incremental changes and repeatable deployments.
- 5Proven experience building and evolving CI/CD pipelines, preferably with CircleCI.
- 6Strong observability strategy skills including metrics, logs, and traces, with incident leadership experience.
- 7Security-by-design mindset with experience in secure baselines, identity and access patterns, secrets management, and compliance.
- 8Ability to define platform standards and reference architectures, driving adoption across teams.
- 9Strong communication and influence skills, consulting with engineering and business partners to translate needs into pragmatic roadmaps.
- 10FinOps awareness and experience driving operational efficiencies and cost optimization.
