Platform Engineer DevOps - Salt Lake City
Overview
You will own the design and delivery of enterprise CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure for a mission-critical platform in Salt Lake City, using GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Google Cloud Platform. You will build and scale containerized microservices on Kubernetes and Helm, while embedding security and observability across the stack. This role is a contract-to-hire position with 5 days onsite, offering direct impact on developer productivity and platform reliability. You will also mentor engineers and drive automation standards across the organization.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build enterprise CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and integrate deployment automation across GCP and AWS.
- 2Design and maintain branching strategies, release management, and version control for enterprise Git repositories.
- 3Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision cloud and hybrid environments.
- 4Deploy and scale containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and Helm.
- 5Build reusable platform components and automation frameworks to reduce manual effort and support engineering teams.
- 6Implement monitoring and logging with Splunk and AppDynamics to improve system health and operational visibility.
- 7Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues to maintain high availability.
- 8Document platform architecture, deployment standards, and operational procedures for team use.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.
- 23+ years as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, SRE, or similar role.
- 3Strong programming in Java, Python, TypeScript, or Bash.
- 4Experience building microservices and REST APIs, with Maven and Gradle.
- 5Expertise with Git and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.
- 6Hands-on Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and Helm experience, plus enterprise platforms like OpenShift or Tanzu.
- 7Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and familiarity with Ansible or Chef.
- 8Cloud infrastructure knowledge on Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
- 9Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- 10Experience with Splunk, AppDynamics, or Prometheus for monitoring and logging.
