What You'll Do9

  • 1Achieve annual safety goals by enforcing OSHA standards and fostering a zero-incident culture across all shifts.
  • 2Drive quality and delivery targets by mapping processes and eliminating non-value-added steps to boost throughput by 15% in the first year.
  • 3Lead cross-functional teams in Kaizen events and 5S implementations to embed continuous improvement in daily operations.
  • 4Partner with engineering and maintenance to plan and execute the $2M capital budget, ensuring projects deliver promised operational benefits.
  • 5Monitor and control the expense budget, using variance analysis to keep costs within 3% of plan.
  • 6Select, train, and develop professional staff and plant associates, building a pipeline of skilled operators and supervisors.
  • 7Implement SPC and Lean tools to reduce defects by 20% and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to 85%.
  • 8Communicate plant performance and improvement initiatives to all employees, reinforcing the importance of continuous improvement.
  • 9Champion a respectful, egoless leadership style, nurturing a culture of listening and collaboration with union representatives.

Requirements9

  • 110+ years in manufacturing management, with a proven record of leading unionized production teams.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • 3Deep expertise in lean manufacturing, statistical process control, and Kaizen methodologies.
  • 4Strong mechanical engineering knowledge, with a conceptual grasp of chemical and electrical systems.
  • 5Excellent communication skills, characterized by sincerity, persuasiveness, and clarity of thought.
  • 6Demonstrated ability to enforce safety rules and procedures, achieving OSHA compliance and zero lost-time incidents.
  • 7Experience managing P&L responsibilities, including capital budgeting and expense control.
  • 8Proven mentoring and coaching skills, with the ability to develop staff to their full potential.
  • 9A positive, humble approach that builds trust and respect across all levels of the organization.
