Plant Maintenance Mechanic, Food Processing
Overview
You'll keep Superior Farms' Denver facility running by diagnosing and repairing equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting a safe, food-grade environment. You'll work alongside a senior technician on complex repairs, handle facility upkeep, and respond to urgent calls. As an employee-owned company, you'll have a stake in the success of America's leading lamb processor. Shift starts as early as 4 AM, with pay up to $26.00 per hour.
What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose and repair building and equipment issues, from quick fixes to advanced work alongside a senior technician.
- 2Execute scheduled preventive maintenance: inspect belts and fluid levels, change filters, grease bearings, and replace worn parts.
- 3Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair pneumatic systems.
- 4Handle facility upkeep: replace windows, repair doors, locks, and closets, and install window blinds.
- 5Maintain detailed daily, weekly, and monthly PM checklists and records.
- 6Use a computer interface to monitor and control mechanical and utility systems.
- 7Install new electrical services and wiring for remodels; repair or replace wiring and components.
- 8Respond promptly to urgent maintenance calls and support renovation projects like patching drywall and painting.
Requirements10
- 1High school diploma or GED, or one year of related experience or training.
- 21+ year of forklift operation.
- 3Hands-on experience with building and mechanical maintenance, or equivalent education and experience.
- 4Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- 5Foundational knowledge across welding, plumbing, electrical, control circuits, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, carpentry, motors, and pumps.
- 6Math fluency: add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- 7Ability to read and write English; bilingual Spanish preferred.
- 8Familiarity with GMPs and HACCP.
- 9Willingness to work early hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- 10Physical stamina: stand up to 12 hours, lift up to 100 lbs frequently.
