Overview

Own marine welding operations on Naval bases and shipyards with complex pipe systems serving 6:00am to 2:30pm shifts. You will work in a shipyard environment, coordinating with naval and MSC/ABS standards and applying multiple welding processes. This role demands hands on welding, fabrication, and mentoring of junior trades as needed. What makes this role unique is the intersection of marine welding, naval standards, and onsite fabrication in a demanding environment.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Read and interpret basic instructions drawings and correspondence in English
  • 2Apply SMAW FCAW GMAW GTAW theory to marine pipe welding projects
  • 3Certify in multiple welding qualifications and maintain certifications
  • 4Interpret drawings specifications and Navy MSC ABS standard items and manuals
  • 5Operate and care for welding equipment portable power tools and hand tools
  • 6Demonstrate five years of pipe welding experience in copper nickel carbon steel and mild steel with ceramic tape backing
  • 7Work on naval bases shipyards and marine piping systems with adherence to safety standards
  • 8Maintain readiness for overtime and flexible scheduling to meet project needs
  • 9Ensure documentation and compliance with NAVSEA standards and DBIDs
  • 10Collaborate with team on quality assurance and safe operation in a shipyard environment

  • 7Structural welders must have 5 years of pipe welding experience

  • 9Pass copper nickel brazing SMAW FCAW GMAW tests in 2G 3G 4G surfaces
  • 10Must be able to read basic instructions drawings and English correspondence
