Ping Identity Consultant, PingDirectory & LDAP
Overview
You will own the deployment and operation of PingDirectory for a consulting engagement, handling installation, configuration, upgrade, and operational support at scale. You will work with a team of identity experts in Raleigh, Richardson, or Tempe, reporting to a lead architect. Your day-to-day involves tuning LDAP performance, resolving replication issues, and executing directory migrations. This role challenges you to optimize high-volume workloads and ensure seamless identity services for enterprise clients.
What You'll Do8
- 1Install and configure PingDirectory in production environments, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
- 2Upgrade PingDirectory clusters with zero downtime, applying patches and new versions.
- 3Design and implement LDAP schemas, including indexing, replication, referrals, and access controls.
- 4Optimize search performance through index tuning, log analysis, and workload profiling.
- 5Perform LDIF exports and imports to migrate directories, cleaning data and synchronizing objects.
- 6Monitor and troubleshoot replication issues, access control problems, and directory performance bottlenecks.
- 7Support high-volume authentication workloads, ensuring response times meet SLAs.
- 8Document configuration standards, operational runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
Requirements7
- 15+ years hands-on experience with PingDirectory installation, configuration, upgrade, and support.
- 2Deep expertise in LDAP schema design, indexing, replication, and access control.
- 3Proven track record of performance tuning for high-volume directory services, including search optimization and index tuning.
- 4Experience with directory migration, including LDIF exports/imports, data cleanup, and synchronization.
- 5Strong analytical skills for log analysis and troubleshooting complex directory issues.
- 6Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in a team environment.
- 7Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
