You will own the upper extremity care path in a leading orthopedic group, managing patient flow and surgical support across the western Philadelphia suburbs. You join a physician-led team of 4 PAs and 2 surgeons, backed by modern facilities and a collaborative culture. This role offers a weekday schedule with no nights or weekends, with $103K-$153K annual pay. You will build a long-term career in a specialized setting with direct mentorship from senior surgeons.
What You'll Do8
- 1Own the first 90 days: master the upper extremity patient workflow, from intake to post-op follow-up, using EPIC and APPs.
- 2Build strong referral relationships with primary care and urgent care clinics in the western suburbs.
- 3Lead patient education on post-surgical protocols, ensuring adherence and reducing readmissions.
- 4Assist in surgeries on upper extremities, including shoulder and wrist procedures, with 2-3 cases daily.
- 5Drive clinic efficiency by triaging urgent same-day visits and managing the PA schedule.
- 6Document all patient encounters in EPIC within 24 hours, meeting compliance standards.
- 7Collaborate with the surgical team on complex cases, contributing to treatment plans.
- 8Scale your impact by mentoring new PAs and optimizing the patient onboarding process.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in orthopedics, with a focus on upper extremity.
- 2NCCPA certification and active PA license in Pennsylvania.
- 3Proficiency in EPIC for clinical documentation and order entry.
- 4Experience with surgical assisting in an ambulatory surgery center or hospital.
- 5Strong ability to interpret X-rays and MRI for pre-op planning.
- 61+ years of experience with CAST application and removal.
- 7Ability to work independently in a high-volume clinic setting with 5+ patients per hour.
- 8Willingness to travel between two clinic locations in the western suburbs.
