Overview
As an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at Main Line Health, you will own the full spectrum of trauma care for a high-volume patient base across four acute care hospitals in the Philadelphia suburbs. You will join a collaborative team of 5+ surgeons and advanced practitioners, supported by a dedicated OR staff and a state-of-the-art Level II trauma center. What You'll Do8
- 1Build a sustainable trauma practice by managing acute orthopedic injuries, including complex fractures and polytrauma, from initial assessment to post-operative care.
- 2Lead the trauma team during on-call rotations, coordinating with emergency medicine, anesthesiology, and nursing to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- 3Drive continuous improvement in trauma protocols by participating in quality audits and multidisciplinary conferences.
- 4Mentor residents and advanced practice providers, sharing expertise in Orthopedic Trauma techniques and surgical decision-making.
- 5Manage a high-volume caseload, performing 200+ surgeries annually with a focus on upper and lower extremity reconstruction.
- 6Collaborate with the broader Main Line Health network to align surgical standards and enhance patient referral pathways.
- 7Deliver patient-centered care, explaining treatment plans and setting realistic expectations for recovery.
- 8Contribute to the growth of the practice by engaging with community referral sources and participating in outreach programs.
Requirements8
- 15+ years experience in orthopedic trauma, preferably in a Level I or II trauma center.
- 2Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- 3Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- 4Successful completion of an accredited fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma.
- 5Valid state medical license or eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania.
- 6Proven ability to manage complex fractures and polytrauma cases with excellent surgical outcomes.
- 7Strong communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
