Physician Assistant Gastroenterology Job in Scottsdale, AZ
Overview
You will own patient care in a Gastroenterology practice at HonorHealth in Scottsdale, AZ, managing a panel of patients under physician supervision. What You'll Do8
- 1Own the full patient workup: take detailed histories and perform physical exams to drive treatment plans.
- 2Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, EKGs, and lab studies, to guide patient management.
- 3Deliver injections and immunizations, and manage wounds, suturing, and infections.
- 4Prescribe medications and counsel patients on health issues, aligning with physician-approved protocols.
- 5Collaborate with departments and external partners to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- 6Drive compliance by applying ICA statutes, federal and state regulations, and OSHA medical surveillance standards.
- 7Stay current on clinical practices and legislation, integrating new guidelines into patient care.
- 8Assist in surgery and perform therapeutic procedures, such as applying and removing casts and traction devices.
Requirements5
- 1Graduation from an AMA accredited school for Physician Assistants and national certification as a Physician Assistant.
- 2Current Arizona State Licensure as a Physician Assistant and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 31 year of experience as a Physician Assistant (preferred).
- 4Current Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPC) or ability to obtain within 7 days of hire (required for pediatric behavioral health sites only).
- 5Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
