What You'll Do9
- 1Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic-biliary symptoms.
- 2Develop and implement a collaborative practice agreement with the supervising physician, reviewing it periodically.
- 3Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs and imaging, and initiate treatment plans.
- 4Provide curbside consultations to internal medicine and family medicine providers to streamline patient care.
- 5Perform procedures allowed by state law under physician direction, such as endoscopy assists.
- 6Coordinate patient care with other health team members and initiate referrals for comprehensive management.
- 7Document patient encounters in the EMR within 24 hours, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- 8Participate in staff meetings, risk management education, and the CODE committee.
- 9Maintain required certifications, including ACLS, BLS, and state licensure.
Requirements7
- 12+ years of experience in Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine.
- 2Active Physician Assistant certification and New Jersey state licensure.
- 3Current DEA registration without sanctions.
- 4BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- 5EMR proficiency, with experience using Epic or similar systems.
- 6Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- 7Valid driver's license and transportation to satellite locations.
