What You'll Do14
- 1Assess patient health status and determine appropriate interventions
- 2Obtain medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations
- 3Provide acute and chronic patient care services
- 4Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust care plans
- 5Administer medications injections and other approved treatments
- 6Perform wound care and suturing procedures
- 7Triage patient phone calls and evaluate concerns
- 8Respond appropriately to medical emergencies including CPR
- 9Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- 10Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses and recovery
- 11Assist surgeons in operating room during orthopedic spine procedures
- 12Participate in hospital rounds and coordinate patient care
- 13Collaborate with physicians regarding patient management
- 14Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Requirements13
- 1Graduate of AMA accredited Physician Assistant program
- 2Bachelor's degree required with Master's preferred
- 3Current Arizona Physician Assistant licensure or ability to obtain before employment
- 4Active NCCPA certification or eligibility to obtain certification
- 5One year orthopedic surgery or neurosurgery experience
- 6Strong understanding of acute and chronic patient care protocols
- 7Knowledge of medication administration and treatment planning
- 8Ability to assess document and monitor patient health status
- 9Excellent patient education and communication skills
- 10Ability to evaluate concerns and provide recommendations
- 11Demonstrated ability to revise treatment plans based on clinical findings
- 12Proven collaboration within multidisciplinary healthcare team
- 13Capacity to make responsible clinical decisions within scope of practice
