Pharmacy Technician - Refill Calls
Overview
You will own inbound and outbound patient refill calls at Shields Health Solutions, processing specialty medications for over 80 health systems. You coordinate CPhT-level workflows, adjudicate claims, and triage inquiries. You join a patient-first team recognized as a Great Place to Work. What You'll Do8
- 1Proactively coordinate medication refills, entering data and adjudicating pharmacy claims in Epic and RxClaim.
- 2Make outbound patient refill calls and complete the full refill request process.
- 3Answer, resolve, and triage inbound patient and provider inquiries.
- 4Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and clinicians using HIPAA-compliant channels.
- 5Identify medications requiring special handling, including hazardous and refrigerated drugs.
- 6Manage, organize, and update patient data using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- 7Apply observations to resolve operational issues and boost productivity.
- 8Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend workflow changes.
Requirements8
- 11-3 years pharmacy technician experience, strongly preferred.
- 2State registration as a pharmacy technician; CPhT certification strongly preferred.
- 3Experience adjudicating electronic claims and resolving error messages.
- 4High school diploma or GED required.
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- 6Ability to sit or stand with focus at a workstation for long periods.
- 7High-speed, reliable internet and distraction-free remote environment.
- 8Flexibility for overtime and start times as early as 7:45 AM EST.
