Overview
You will own the patient experience at Walgreens, building relationships and ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment from day one. In this apprenticeship, you will train with Walgreens' ASHP-recognized program and work alongside pharmacists using the latest pharmacy systems. What You'll Do9
- 1Greet customers and offer assistance, resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- 2Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring medications.
- 3Check for possible drug interactions under pharmacist supervision.
- 4Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty immediately and follow quality improvement procedures.
- 5Handle cash register sales and process third-party claims for prescription services.
- 6Assist with inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments.
- 7Support clinical services by collecting and labeling blood/urine samples as needed.
- 8Develop relationships with local medical community through outreach to health groups and nursing homes.
- 9Complete training required for PTCB certification and maintain continuing education credits.
Requirements8
- 1Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- 2Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- 36+ months of retail experience preferred.
- 4Prior work experience with Walgreens preferred.
- 5Good math skills for counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- 6Good computer skills.
- 7Knowledge of store inventory control preferred.
- 8PTCB certification preferred.
