You will own day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations at a high-volume Walgreens store in San Francisco, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Working under the supervision of the pharmacist, you will drive operational excellence, manage inventory, and support healthcare services like vaccines and health screenings. What You'll Do10
- 1Own the daily pharmacy workflow, from patient registration to prescription processing, using PTCB-certified skills and pharmacy systems to ensure accuracy and speed.
- 2Lead a team of pharmacy technicians and cashiers: schedule shifts, assign tasks, and hold team members accountable for timely completion of non-clinical work.
- 3Drive customer satisfaction by greeting patients, resolving complaints, and answering non-clinical questions, modeling best practices for the team.
- 4Support the pharmacist in delivering patient care, including preparing medications, counting, and verifying prescriptions where allowed by law.
- 5Manage pharmacy inventory: monitor stock levels, prepare for annual inventory, and ensure the pharmacy is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- 6Process insurance claims accurately to prevent rejections, follow up with insurers and medical providers, and participate in third-party audits.
- 7Ensure compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations, including Good Faith Dispensing and asset protection techniques.
- 8Train and develop technicians: identify knowledge gaps, provide hands-on training, and assign learning modules to maintain high performance.
- 9Use the Walgreens Online Verification System to document licensure status and ensure all team certifications are active and compliant.
- 10Coordinate community outreach: manage the Community Outreach Portal, assign pharmacists to off-site clinics and events, and build retail partnerships.
Requirements7
- 1High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
- 2PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- 31+ year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- 4Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- 5Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- 6Preferred: previous people management or leadership experience.
- 7Preferred: previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
