Personal Injury Attorney, VA & MD Licensed
Overview
You own an active caseload of personal injury matters across Virginia and Maryland from day one. You work with a dedicated support pod of four or more staff. The firm settles 30 to 40 cases a quarter, with a goal of at least 45 per attorney. Your compensation includes a base salary, quarterly performance commissions, and a 25% origination fee. This role rewards producers, not coasters. You manage cases on both sides of the Potomac, with infrastructure that lets you focus on moving cases and negotiating hard.
What You'll Do10
- 1Own an active caseload of PI matters across pre-litigation and litigation, scaled to experience tier
- 2Move cases from treatment through demand, negotiation, and settlement or trial verdict
- 3Conduct client consultations, depositions, mediations, hearings, and jury trials
- 4Appear at status conferences, motions hearings, and pre-trial proceedings in General District and Circuit Courts
- 5Collaborate daily with your dedicated support team of 4+ staff, including paralegals, case managers, and medical records specialists
- 6Review and approve demand packages, settlement agreements, and litigation strategy
- 7Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters and defense counsel on pre-litigation and litigated matters
- 8Coordinate with paralegals on discovery, court filings, subpoenas, and trial preparation
- 9Maintain accurate case notes, deadlines, and documentation in the case management system
- 10Participate in firm strategy sessions, case reviews, and performance check-ins
Requirements8
- 13-5 years of litigation experience, with plaintiff-side personal injury experience preferred
- 2Active bar licenses in Virginia and Maryland, in good standing
- 3Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
- 4Real skill across negotiation, depositions, motions, and settlement
- 5Trial experience, at a minimum bench trials in General District Court or Maryland District Court
- 6Strong written and oral advocacy
- 7Proficiency with case management software
- 8Drive to build a long-term plaintiff PI career and to produce
