Personal Care Assistant, Direct Support & ADLs
Overview
Own daily care for clients with ADL needs in residential and community settings. You will manage hygiene, mobility, meals, and medication adherence for up to 8 individuals per shift. The team includes RNs and care coordinators, backed by on-site training in safe lifting and EMR documentation. This role stands out because you build one-on-one relationships and see real progress in independence.
What You'll Do7
- 1Assist clients with ADLs: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- 2Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- 3Administer medications per protocol and document each dose in the EMR system
- 4Perform safe transfers and heavy lifting using mechanical lifts and proper body mechanics
- 5Prepare meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when required
- 6Maintain a clean, infection-controlled environment through light cleaning and sanitization
- 7Communicate daily updates to families and clinical staff, flagging any care concerns
Requirements7
- 11+ years in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings
- 2Valid certification in CPR/First Aid
- 3Familiarity with EMR charting and documentation
- 4Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform safe patient transfers
- 5Experience with clients who have developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- 6Valid driver's license for client transportation
- 7Availability for every-other-weekend, night, and overnight shifts
