Perioperative Aide- Operating Room Part-Time Evenings
Overview
Support perioperative patients under the direction of the Administrative Director Nurse Manager and nurses. This part-time evening role requires cleaning disinfecting and disinfecting rooms and equipment following infection control policies. Provide bed making removal of soiled linen and trash and relining waste containers. Precept new employees volunteers and confirm documentation completion. Assist with patient lifting and positioning and transport lab products supplies and pharmacy items. Respond to OR desk requests promptly and follow clinical protocols for specimen handling and blood products. Anticipate patient comfort needs such as blankets and pillows. Seal and move biohazardous waste and exchange syringe boxes. Stock all linens and supplies remove biohazardous waste and complete turnovers within standards. Demonstrate proper PPE use.

- 11Respond to OR desk requests promptly while following clinical laboratory protocols
Requirements8
- 1American Heart Association BLS certification
- 2High School education preferred
- 3Knowledge of healthcare settings
- 4Ability to communicate effectively with patients families and coworkers
- 5Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- 6Remain calm under stress and handle urgent requests
- 7Use proper body mechanics for patient handling
- 8Demonstrate proficiency with personal protective equipment
