What You'll Do7

  • 1Administer precise radiation therapy treatments per Radiation Oncologist instructions and safety protocols.
  • 2Prepare patients for treatment, including simulation, positioning, and use of immobilization devices.
  • 3Calculate radiation dosages and operate linear accelerators and other complex radiotherapy equipment.
  • 4Maintain detailed treatment records and ensure accurate documentation within the EMR system.
  • 5Educate patients and families about radiation therapy procedures, side effects, and management strategies.
  • 6Observe patients during treatment and report concerns to the Radiation Oncologist or oncology nurse.
  • 7Participate in departmental quality assurance and safety checks.

Requirements7

  • 1Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program.
  • 2Current certification by the ARRT in Radiation Therapy.
  • 3New York State licensure as a Radiation Therapist.
  • 4Excellent technical skills with high precision and accuracy.
  • 5Strong patient-centered focus and compassionate support.
  • 6Experience with IMRT, IGRT, or SBRT (preferred).
  • 7Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
