Overview

The role owns peer support and recovery services for individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges at scale within a multi-county service area. You will work with a collaborative team of peer specialists, case managers, and community partners to empower clients toward housing stability, benefits navigation, sobriety, and mental health management. This position offers onsite work in Durham and surrounding areas with opportunities for growth, ongoing training, and professional development.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Build trusted relationships with clients and share lived experiences to offer encouragement
  • 2Assist clients in setting and achieving recovery oriented goals related to housing benefits sobriety and mental health management
  • 3Provide companionship emotional support and mentorship to clients facing challenges
  • 4Assist with daily living activities including light housekeeping meal preparation and errands
  • 5Facilitate access to community resources healthcare services and social support systems
  • 6Document services provided in accordance with agency and regulatory guidelines
  • 7Collaborate with healthcare providers case managers and community organizations to coordinate care and supports
  • 8Support clients in navigating transportation scheduling and appointments and track progress over time
  • 9Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with program policies and confidentiality standards

  • 1Must have personal experience with mental health or substance use recovery
  • 2Must be a certified Peer Support Specialist
