Requirements11
- 1High School Diploma or GED required
- 2Lived experience of mental illness or substance use disorder
- 3Well established in recovery and currently stable
- 4Hold a High School Diploma or GED
- 5Supervised by a Qualified Professional
- 6Not a family member of the individual receiving support
- 7North Carolina certification as a Peer Support Specialist
- 8Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with diversity
- 9Personal qualities including patience and empathy
- 10Ability to work well with others
- 11Understanding of mental health and substance use treatments
