What You'll Do8

  • 1Administer and interpret specialized psychological tests for children, including Autism, ADHD, and DSM-IV disorders, within the first 90 days.
  • 2Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments by reviewing medical and school records and interviewing patients, families, and caretakers.
  • 3Diagnose conditions per DSM-IV and complete written reports with treatment implications within prescribed timelines.
  • 4Provide outpatient psychotherapy in individual, family, and group modalities, adjusting approaches to patient needs.
  • 5Collaborate with USNH Okinawa, USAF 18th Medical Group, DODDS, and community agencies to coordinate care for special needs children.
  • 6Deliver immediate consultation for emergent patient situations and respond to same-day consultation requests within 24 hours.
  • 7Identify and diagnose adult psychological problems in the inpatient unit, offering crisis intervention and short-term therapy.
  • 8Drive patient wellness programs with clinical staff and inform supervisors of patient population needs and resource optimization.

Requirements9

  • 15+ years full-time experience as a pediatric psychologist, with at least one year within the last five years.
  • 2Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program.
  • 3Valid unrestricted license to practice psychology in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S. Virgin Islands.
  • 4Successful completion of a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in child or adolescent psychology from an APA accredited program.
  • 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • 6Two letters of recommendation within the last two years, one from a supervisor.
  • 7U.S. citizenship required.
  • 8Fluent English communication skills with patients and healthcare personnel.
  • 9Working knowledge of military lifestyle and relevant federal, state, and local laws.
