Overview
You will own advanced data science and machine learning projects on large-scale claims and clinical data for payer clients. You will lead teams, manage client accounts, and deliver insights that reduce cost of care and improve population health. Working with Python, R, and SQL, you will build analytics products and collaborate with industry leaders. This role offers direct impact on healthcare strategies and mentorship of junior staff.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build machine learning models on claims and clinical data to predict cost and utilization trends.
- 2Analyze unstructured clinical text using NLP techniques to extract actionable insights.
- 3Lead a team of data scientists, setting priorities and reviewing technical work.
- 4Present findings to senior stakeholders, including Chief Actuaries, and guide strategic decisions.
- 5Develop new analytics products for payer strategies, from prototype to production.
- 6Collaborate with consultants and clients to align analytics with business goals.
- 7Drive continuous improvement in modeling processes and knowledge sharing.
- 8Mentor junior staff, providing guidance on Python and SQL best practices.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field.
- 26+ years of experience in data science and machine learning.
- 3Master's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Biotechnology preferred.
- 4Prior consulting or advisory firm experience preferred.
- 5Experience contributing to commercial analytics product development.
- 6Familiarity with NCQA HEDIS specifications and CMS Star Ratings.
- 7Knowledge of government payer programs and Medicaid.
- 8Experience with NLP or unstructured clinical text.
- 9Exposure to social determinants of health data integration.
